“Ghana’s Other Gold”
Over 100 of the little-known rainforest butterflies of West Africa, seen in close-up, and in their natural habitats. From the Snout, and the Shining Blue Nymph and other exquisite Nymphalids of Africa (Bebearia, Euphaedra) to the elegant Gliders and Acraeids. A fascinating introduction to the rainforests of Africa, and their abundant wildlife.
The film was shot in the some of the primary forests still surviving in Ghana, in the Wli Valley, the Kakum National Park, and the Atewa Hills, some of the richest areas in West Africa.
The film has been shown on both Ghana TV stations. References in it can now be followed up in the long-awaited and recently published handbook by Dr Torben Larsen, “The Butterflies of West Africa”.
A rich video that merits repeated viewing – Sir David Attenborough.
